When NY1 ran footage Jan. 18 of clashes between participants in the Black Liberation March and police, Tish James may have told herself: there they go again.
Four days earlier, the State Attorney General had announced a lawsuit against the NYPD for its handling of Black Lives Matter demonstrations last year that she said was intended "to end its pattern of using excessive force and making false arrests against New Yorkers during peaceful protests."
