According to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistic data released Jan. 4, 4.5 million American workers left their jobs in November. The 3-percent quit rate was the highest recorded by the BLS since it started tracking the data point in December 2000.
“Quits are generally voluntary separations initiated by the employee,” the BLS reported. “Therefore, the quits rate can serve as a measure of workers’ willingness or ability to leave jobs.”
