Q.: I'm married and have a NYC Employee Roth IRA. I want to open up a NYC Employee Roth IRA for my wife, who doesn't work. Is this allowed? D.H.

A.: Yes. Your wife, using your income, may open up a Spousal NYC Employee Roth IRA. The contribution limit for 2022 is $6,000 ($7,000 50+). The following is from the website of the Deferred Compensation Plan of the City of New York. www1.nyc.gov/site/olr/nyceira/nyceira-spousal.page.
