The Inner Circle, the collection of past and present City Hall reporters that annually puts on a send-up of the strange doings in city, state and Federal governments, is making its long-awaited comeback after being sidelined the past two springs by the coronavirus.
On the downside, critics may argue that this has left the organization with an even larger war chest of stale jokes than usual. On the upside, the two missed shows would have featured rebuttals by Bill de Blasio—who ended the tradition of Mayors being accompanied by Broadway casts for their rebuttals to the reporters' show in favor of his own comic stylings—and Mayor Adams figures to present something of Hamiltonian swagger by comparison.This item is available in full to subscribers.
