The Job: Deckhands clean vessels and terminal areas, perform lookout and emergency duties of the duty station, such as launching and manning rescue boats and liferafts; operate firefighting equipment; and assist in vessel-to-vessel transfers.

They also operate boarding doors, gates, aprons and bridges; handle gangways and mooring lines; direct passenger and vehicle traffic, and patrol decks and duty stations.
