To the Editor: Due process is a sacred cornerstone that must be observed to preserve not only the integrity of civil-service law, but our democratic way of life.
No matter how clear-cut the eventual outcome may appear, and regardless of the weight of evidence, it must be exercised in good faith. Unstinting care must be taken to avoid it being a done deal accomplished by a kangaroo court going through the motions.
