To the Editor: As a former Correction Officer, I share the outrage felt by COBA President Benny Boscio and the union executive board over the flagrantly obscene remarks made by Queens Councilman Daniel Dromm at the Dec.11 hearing on punitive seg in the jails.
Dromm's labeling of a respectable union leader as a "thug" and his blanket condemnation of corrections staff as being somehow responsible for the assaults perpetrated against them by violent inmates are beneath contempt. This man is obviously just another left-wing progressive idiot who resides in a fantasy world where the good guys are the bad guys and the bad guys are the good guys.
