To the Editor: Richard Steier's article trying to give NY Democrats cover on their partisan gerrymandering that would rig New York's House and state legislative seats for the next 10 years conveniently leaves out one very important fact.
In 2014, the people of New York voted and added an amendment to the New York State Constitution that specifically states, "Districts shall not be drawn to discourage competition or for the purpose of favoring or disfavoring incumbents or other particular candidates or parties."
