To the editor:
In just the past few days, we have seen and heard Kamala Harris and Tim Walz go on the offensive against Trump and his truly strange VP choice, J. D. Vance, in a focused and aggressive way that Joe Biden was unwilling to do.
They are having fun attacking Trump and Vance, and are daring them to show up for the debates. I don’t believe Donald Trump will debate Kamala Harris in the same format that was set up when Biden was his opponent. She will chew him up and spit him out in the first 10 minutes, or until the subject of Project 2025 comes up.
Vance may think he can go up against Tim Walz, but I doubt Trump will allow him to make a fool of himself and justify Tim Walz’ adjective to describe Vance and Trump, “weird.”
In his press conference at Mar-a-Lago, Trump stated so many lies that fact-checking covered almost every word coming out of Trump’s mouth. His lie about his crowd being bigger than Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech is ridiculous and the photos prove it. Trump said that he wanted three debates with Harris, one on Sept. 4, on Fox; another on the original debate date, Sept. 10, on ABC; and a third on Sept. 25. Harris will never fall for Trump’s games.
He wants the first debate on Fox, and after he is protected by his acolytes on Fox who will never fact-check Trump, he will refuse to debate again.
In just a few weeks, Trump has gone from confident to desperate, and he and his MAGA phonies have no strategy for this pathological liar.
