Overall crime citywide again dropped in September, marking the ninth straight month of decreases, police officials said. Killings, robberies, burglaries and car thefts were all down from a year ago, according to NYPD data.
Major crimes dipped 3.1 percent in September compared with the same month last year. There were 30 murders in September, down from 34 recorded in September 2023.
