City workers will recoup more than $525,000 in unpaid prevailing wages following settlements won by the city comptroller against four building and construction contractors, the office announced Thursday.

Comptroller Brad Lander announced that his office reached a settlement totaling $90,000 with 781 Metropolitan Ave JV LLC, which contracted with Security USA, Inc. to provide staff for the building’s maintenance and concierge services. The building received a 421-a tax exemption, yet Security USA failed to pay prevailing wages and supplemental benefits to two workers at the building from July 2019 to June 2021, according to Lander’s office.
