A building services company will pay over $145,000 to former cleaners and door attendants for breaching prevailing wage and benefits requirements at two different properties under a settlement announced by City Comptroller Brad Lander.
After workers employed by subsidiaries of Planned Companies at 546 West 44th St. in Manhattan and 282 South Fifth St. in Brooklyn filed complaints with the comptroller office, Lander’s Bureau of Labor Law investigated the claims and found that workers in both buildings hadn’t received prevailing wages and supplemental benefits as required by state law. The comptroller sued Planned Lifestyle Services and Planned Building Services — subsidiaries of Planned Companies — in June.
