Dozens of cleaners at Con Edison facilities throughout the city say the contractor who employs them is lowballing on salaries and are calling on the energy company to replace the Yonkers-based firm.
The cleaners employed by Nelson Services Systems, who are in the early stages of unionizing with Local 32BJ of the Service Employees International Union, say that the contractor doesn’t pay prevailing wages as required under a 2020 state law.
