John Chiarello, who was reelected TWU Local 100’s secretary-treasurer in December, will fill out the rest of Richard Davis’ term as head of the city’s largest transport workers’ union. Chiarello, 58, a signal maintainer by trade, was installed by the local’s executive board Friday.
Chiarello had been serving as interim president after Davis was effectively ousted as the local’s president a month ago following allegations that he pressured a female subordinate into having sex with him on several occasions and then threatened to kill her if she spoke about the encounters.
