Carpenters Hammer de Blasio Over Benefit Cutbacks, Stalled Pay Talks

The District Council of Carpenters came to City Hall July 13 to send one message to the Mayor: “Restore our benefits and let’s get back to the bargaining table.”

That sentiment was voiced by Joseph Geiger, the union’s executive secretary-treasurer. About 700 of the District Council of Carpenters’ 22,000 members work for the city.
