Applaud Governor’s Free-Tuition Plan For Students Attending CUNY, SUNY

Unions and elected officials cheered Governor Cuomo’s proposal to make city and state colleges tuition-free for New Yorkers in families making less than $125,000 a year, but critics say it may not go far enough.

Mr. Cuomo announced his plan Jan. 3 at LaGuardia Community College in Queens alongside Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, whose surprisingly strong run in the Democratic presidential primaries was aided by his call for free tuition at public colleges.
