Vincent Alvarez will begin a fourth term as president of the New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, July 1.
Any transition from June 30 will likely be seamless, even if the work — advocating, pressuring and, if necessary, cajoling on behalf of workers throughout the city — takes on added imperative with a majority of municipal unions either waiting to start contract negotiations or looking to close them out.
