A possible peace

Posted

In my opinion, there are only two agreements possible concerning the war between Russia and Ukraine: Russia agrees to pull out from the areas they occupy and Ukraine agrees not to seek

NATO membership or Ukraine concedes the present occupied territories to Russia and Russia agrees to allow Ukraine to seek membership in NATO.

No matter the agreement, Russia (the invader) must pay appropriate reparations.

Bravo! A great letter. Short and to the point.

How the civilized world forces Putin to accept either option is the difficult part, let alone getting him to agree to pay for Ukraine's rebuilding.

In my humble opinion, Putin’s behavior during the Alaska meeting with President Trump clearly demonstrated the extent of Mr. Putin’s unhinged nature.

Russia will never accept Ukraine’s membership in NATO; Putin’s land grab is not negotiable.

Peace will only come to Ukraine after President Trump imposes severe sanctions on Russia, crippling Putin’s financial ability to pay his generals for loyalty. His removal from power will eventually occur, either through violent or peaceful means. It is hoped that Putin will be removed from power peacefully, as violence is never a permanent solution to any problem.

In this case, the bird of sagacity has not landed on Putin’s shoulder; it flew over his amoral head.

Hey, Word Man - we're still waiting for the sanctions Trump promised to impose on Russia two days BEFORE his summit with Putin in Alaska. Instead of sanctions, Trump rolled out a Red Carpet and warmly welcomed the mass murderer. Trump chickened out, as usual, and did nothing.

BTW, only yesterday Russia blamed Trump for Iran's progress on developing a nuclear weapon. In that, Russia is correct.
