To the Editor: I was glad to see Kirsten Gillibrand (the “me too” nemesis of SNL comedian Al Franken), and Bill de Blasio (the guy who thinks being Mayor of NYC is beneath him) were ejected, expelled and disgorged from the third Democratic debate.
Never will two would-be candidates be less missed in the coming debates than these two pretenders. To call them empty suits is unwarranted flattery.
Recent polls, including the Quinnipiac Poll, have the 5 top candidates—Biden, Sanders, Warren, Harris, and Buttigieg—beating Trump by between 9 and 16 points in head-to-head match-ups.
If the tax and loan records of Donald Trump with Deutsche Bank are fully revealed, Trump may be facing some desperate Republican challengers in the primary. If it’s true that Trump couldn’t get a loan without a Putin-affiliated Russian oligarch to co-sign it, I think even Trump’s base may start to erode. The end is near for the self-proclaimed “messiah” if the economy continues to flounder and Trump’s tax and loan records become public.
We can’t break out the champagne yet, but the light is starting to appear at the end of our nation’s racist, xenophobic, misogynistic political tunnel.
