To the Editor: It would appear that spending the last 3+ years at President Trump’s side has rubbed off on Mike Pence. During his vacation at Florida’s Sanibel Island, our self-righteous, born-again Christian Vice President decided it was time to join his boss in breaking the Ninth Commandment—thou shalt not lie. This came, of course, by way of tweet—one in which Mr. Pence falsely claimed that Iranian General Qasem Soleimani (the hard-line Shiite military leader recently killed by the U.S.) assisted 10 of the 12 terrorists who carried out the 9/11 attacks.
Either our Vice President was unaware that 19 terrorists carried out the attacks and that they were all Sunni extremists with ties to Iran’s mortal enemy Saudi Arabia, or Mr. Pence intentionally lied. Any rational American will tell you it is the latter. Those of us old enough to remember the 9/11 attacks know exactly who was involved (Al Qaeda), how many took part (19) and their nationalities (15 Saudis, two United Arab Emirates natives, and one each from Egypt and Lebanon).
