To the Editor: Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that all NYC workers must get the coronavirus vaccine by Oct. 29 or be suspended from work without pay. This mandate is necessary, and it is overdue. No city worker has the right to expose co-workers and the public to the virus.
The message to the employees who refuse to get the vaccine is, very simply, "science doesn't care what you believe." People interacting with city employees have the right to know they are not being unnecessarily exposed to the virus.
