To the Editor: The City Council plan to transfer oversight of School Safety Agents from the Police Department to the Department of Education is just another nail in the coffin for the concept of safe schools.
With all the crime, criminality, and out-of-control behavior occurring on school property, the last thing the school system needs is for these Agents to be turned into blue flowerpots with zero authority to handcuff or make arrests—which is exactly what will happen under this radical leftist progressive regime we have governing this city.
