To the Editor: The Managerial Employees Association is disappointed that the Mayor has rushed to call all remaining city employees back to their offices Sept. 13. Managers across the city had less than two weeks to prepare for full-time, in-person work even as COVID-19 and its variants still pose a threat to all New Yorkers.
Our concern is for the health and safety of all managers and their families, and we welcome any opportunity for the Mayor to be part of current and future conversations about reopening and workplace safety. MEA is reminding the Mayor that city managers are crucial to the workplace, as are their union colleagues.
