To the Editor: Why on earth does it keep happening? George Floyd is the latest African American man to be murdered by the very people sworn to protect him—police officers.
Echoing the Eric Garner tragedy, Mr. Floyd begged the cop kneeling on his neck to relent because he "can't breathe". Also reminiscent of the Garner case, three other officers stood by doing nothing, except to prevent onlookers from intervening on Mr. Floyd's behalf.
