A few minutes after Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three murder charges in the death of George Floyd, we spoke to a police officer of color who offered a one-word reaction: "Good."
He went on to elaborate: he was relieved that his next few weeks on the job wouldn't be consumed by "those crazy demonstrations," but also gratified that the jurors in Minneapolis April 20 had produced a just verdict, one that he believed in other ways would be good for him and his fellow officers.
