Lack of FBI Conspiracy Leaves Trump Sweating

Four months ago, Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz issued a report finding that former FBI Director James Comey violated Justice Department policies and those of the bureau he ran by treating as if they were his personal property memos he wrote following meetings with President Trump in which he believed he was asked to take improper actions. He had then leaked them through an intermediary to a New York Times reporter.

In fact, Mr. Horowitz stated, “We conclude that the memos were official FBI records” and therefore Mr. Comey “violated FBI policies and the requirements of his FBI Employment Agreement.”
