Firefighters and Emergency Medical Technicians have offered reasons why many of them don't want to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. They include that they've already had the virus and recovered, and that they were given false assurances by city and Federal officials less than a week after 9/11 that the air was safe to breathe.
But they would be wise to heed the advice of Dr. David Prezant, the FDNY's Chief Medical Officer, and get vaccinated once they can later this month.
