There may be a plausible explanation—or at least one that does not involve corrupt behavior—for Local 372 of District Council 37 to have had its assets drop from $15 million to $10 million in the three-year period ending in 2018, the last financial filing made by a local that represents low-paid non-pedagogical school employees.
That may also be true of the local's purchase for $9.3 million in 2019 of a condo at West 33rd St. to be used for office space, with a mortgage of $5 million.
