Whistleblower Lawsuit: De Blasio Duplicitous About Role in Firing

Court papers filed by a former high-ranking Department of Citywide Administrative Services official who claims he was fired for giving prosecutors damaging information about Mayor de Blasio's role in two city scandals refuted the Mayor's claim he had no role in the dismissal with emails showing he was involved in the discussion.

Ricardo Morales, who has alleged that his firing as DCAS Deputy Commissioner for Asset Management on Feb. 24, 2017 was directly related to the Mayor's meeting hours earlier with the U.S. Attorney's Office about possible criminal conduct, cited two sets of emails as part of a brief filed by his attorney, Robert Kraus, opposing the city's motion to dismiss the lawsuit
