Stringer Report Blasts Fees, Fines Associated With Justice System

The price of justice in New York City is excessive and systematically burdens the poor, according to a just-released report by the office of Comptroller Scott Stringer.

Fees and fines levied for criminal infractions, including those imposed following a convict’s release from jail, unjustly saddle even those who long ago completed their sentences, the report concluded.
