Police Commissioner William J. Bratton on Dec. 17 promoted 308 uniformed officers, including new Sgt. Kenneth W. Boss, the last of the four officers involved in the 1999 shooting death of Amadou Diallo who is still with the department. He also promoted 29 civilians.
The NYPD has five new Chiefs and eight new Inspectors.
