A 70-percent reduction in jail violence cited by Department of Correction higher-ups in 2017 was based on numbers cooked up by a consulting firm being paid tens of millions of dollars, according to a report in the Daily News.
The newspaper, citing emails and court documents, said DOC staffers had on several occasions questioned the accuracy of data generated by the consulting firm, McKinsey & Company.
