But the lawyer for the former NYPD Police Officer, fired by Commissioner James P. O’Neill Aug. 19 for using a department-prohibited chokehold that led to the death of Eric Garner more than five years ago, called the officer’s dismissal “cruel” and “draconian” and vowed to fight it.
