NYPD Top Honors to Survivor of One Shoot-Out and Sergeant Who Didn’t

Two Medal of Honor recipients received standing ovations June 6 at NYPD Medal Day.

One was the family of Sgt. Paul J. Tuozzolo, who received the Medal of Honor. That award, the Police Department’s highest decoration, is usually given posthumously.
