More than half of NYPD officers who fell ill over the past few weeks, including 3,363 who tested positive for the coronavirus, were back on the job as of April 25.
Since April 9, the number of officers who were out ill has declined from 7,155—nearly 20 percent of the force—to 3,554, or 9.8 percent, according to the NYPD.
