Another NYPD officer took his own life Aug. 12.
Johnny Rios, 35, who shot himself at his Yonkers home that evening, was the eighth officer, and the second from the 50th Precinct, to commit suicide this year, which one senior NYPD official said was double what the department normally experiences over a full year.
