The number of apartments at the Housing Authority where children under 6 may have been exposed to lead paint is triple the amount the Authority previously believed, the Federal Monitor appointed to oversee reforms at NYCHA announced Oct. 22.
Monitor Bart Schwartz stated that about 6,000 additional apartments housing young children likely had lead, beyond the 3,028 units NYCHA initially found in February 2019.
