Murders, Driven by Domestic-Violence Incidents, Up Citywide, NYPD Reports

Murders citywide jumped last month, with 31 people killed—eight more than in April 2019. 

Seven of those killed were victims of domestic violence, in what police and advocates said was an alarming consequence of victims and their abusers being restricted indoors.
