The U.S. Postal Service's smooth performance in delivering mail ballots made it an afterthought in the presidential election, but having dodged a potential disaster hasn't lessened its need for significant financial assistance due to fall-out from the coronavirus, sparking a National Day of Action coordinated by the American Postal Workers Union Nov. 17.
Its New York affiliate, the Metro Area Postal Union, will be leading the rest of the city labor movement in a rally outside the James A. Farley Post Office at noon that day that is supported by the AFL-CIO New York City Central Labor Council.
