Labor Journalists Say Trump Alters Tactics Needed in Organizing

Union organizing during the Trump administration will be sharply different than in the past, a panel of women authors told the audience at the Metro New York Labor Communications Council’s May 12 convention.

Protests are shifting the model for labor organizing. Before, employees picketed a specific company or industry, but now they are organizing around ideals of what they want America to be, such as the outrage over the ban on immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries that led to protests at JFK and taxi drivers striking.
