A Rikers Island inmate has been indicted for assault on a peace officer for allegedly punching a Correction Officer, breaking his jaw and causing injuries that will affect him for the rest of his life, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced May 17.
Tariq Hargorve, (also known as Tariq Hargrove), 20, of Brooklyn, was also arraigned on charges of second- and third-degree assault and obstructing governmental administration. The maximum sentence for a conviction for assault on a peace officer is 15 years in prison.
