In Democratic Debate, Warren Takes Heat, Buttigieg Brings Some

The Oct. 15 Democratic presidential debate at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio featured a change in the dynamic from the previous four face-offs, with several candidates taking aim at Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, confirming the growing perception based on recent polls that she has supplanted ex-Vice President Joe Biden as the front-runner in the race.

Ms. Warren came under particularly sharp questioning over her support of Medicare for All as a replacement for the Affordable Care Act, with a few rivals looking to propel themselves into the top tier of candidates joining Mr. Biden in accusing her of not being specific about whether her proposal would require a tax increase for anyone besides wealthier Americans.
