Bowing to political reality, former Mayor Bill de Blasio Jan. 18 announced that he would not run for Governor, as he had broadly hinted he planned to do in his final weeks before leaving office.
He gave no reason for his decision, which he announced not on a cable news show—the venue of choice for many of his recent pronouncements—but with a Twitter post of him standing outside his Park Slope home.
