The Federal Monitor charged with overseeing repairs and reforms within the city’s public-housing developments has called for the Housing Authority to establish a centralized team to address growing security problems.
In his quarterly report, NYCHA Federal Monitor Bart Schwartz highlighted security lapses that have contributed to increased repair costs and the loss of critical—and expensive—equipment needed to serve residents.
