About 3,000 unionized graduate-student workers at Columbia University paused their strike this week after the Ivy League institution agreed to the the union's call for mediation.
The graduate-student workers, represented by the Graduate Workers of Columbia, GWC-United Auto Workers Local 2110, walked away from their research, teaching and administrative jobs March 15 after failing to reach agreement with university administrators on an initial contract.
