Kathryn Garcia, who when she was languishing in the polls a couple of months ago was praised by Andrew Yang as so accomplished as a government administrator that she'd be his top hire if he became Mayor, has had that assessment downgraded now that her momentum in the campaign is surging while Mr. Yang is losing support.
The entrepreneur, who benefited from name recognition he gained during his run for president and his sunny persona, took a turn for the dark side June 1, telling reporters outside his new campaign office in Bensonhurst that perceived front-runner Eric Adams represented "business as usual" and had Mayor de Blasio making calls for him, and that Ms. Garcia should be viewed with distrust as a former de Blasio aide.
