State legislators and union members raised concerns about an enrollment crisis at the City University of New York, which has contributed to canceled classes and could threaten job security for adjuncts.
Enrollment at CUNY’s community colleges decreased by 13.2 percent last month compared to January 2021, according to a recent article published by the news outlet The City. The decline was steep at certain campuses, particularly LaGuardia Community College, which had 34 percent fewer students as the spring semester began.
