Dozens Strike Catsimatidis's Oil Company Over Stalled Talks

At least three of about two dozen workers at a Brooklyn fuel terminal owned by John Catsimatidis, the billionaire supermarket owner, talk-show host and 2013 Republican mayoral candidate, have been fired after striking for better wages and benefits.

Terminal workers, fleet mechanics and service technicians at United Metro Energy joined Teamsters Local 553 more than two years ago but are still waiting for a first contract. They walked off the job April 19 and have been picketing the Greenpoint site since then.
