Cuomo: Officers Facing Charges Should Not Get Other Cop Jobs

Lawyers, doctors, journalists, even newly minted MBAs all have codes of conduct and behavior, and breaching them can cause lasting damage to a person’s career. 

Police officers, too, have their pledges: to uphold the law and the U.S. Constitution. Some also take the “Oath of Honor” propagated by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, by which they promise to “never betray my integrity, my character or the public trust.”
