After several months of investigating the conduct of Bronx City Council Member Andy King, the Council’s Committee on Standards and Ethics has substantiated charges of serious misconduct against him and recommended that the full body consider several serious sanctions, though it stopped short of calling for his expulsion.
The panel issued a report finding that Mr. King violated both the City Charter and Council regulations in a long-running retaliation campaign against members of his own staff to obstruct the internal investigation and a prior probe, harassed staff members, regularly flouted the city’s conflict-of-interest laws, and misdirected public funds for his own benefit.
